Nimmy Nimmy Not, My name is Tom Tit Tot

Nimmy Nimmy Not, My name is Tom Tit Tot

Once upon a time, there was a woman who cooked 5 cakes. And when the cake is removed from the oven, there are a few hard edges because it is scorched. Therefore he said to his daughter:

“My daughter, keep these cookies on the shelf, and leave them there for a while, because the slightly scorched part will slowly soften later.”

But her daughter listened to her mother’s orders wrongly and thought her mother told her to eat all of the cakes so that she ate all of them at once.

When lunch arrived, the mother asked her son to take the cake that was on the shelf, but his daughter said that the cake had been finished eating. Mother becomes a little disappointed, takes the spinner and starts spinning while singing:

“My daughter ate 5 cakes, 5 cakes today.”
“My daughter ate 5 cakes, 5 cakes today.”

A king who happened to pass by and heard him sing came closer because he wanted to hear more clearly the song of the song sung by the mother. The king asked,

“What are you singing, O good mother?”

The mother, who felt ashamed when the King heard what her daughter was doing, changed her poem to:

“My daughter is spinning 5 rolls of gold, 5 rolls of gold thread today.”
“My daughter is spinning 5 rolls of gold, 5 rolls of gold thread today.”

“Wow!” said the King, “I have never heard of anyone capable of such a thing.”

Then he said again: “I have long wanted to find a life companion, and I will marry your daughter on several conditions,” he said further, “the first eleven months, he may eat whatever he wants and wear whatever clothes and dresses he likes, has whatever servant he wants, but at the end of the month, he must spin 5 gold scrolls every day, otherwise I will punish you and imprison you in the tower forever. ”

“All right,” said the mother; while thinking how luxurious her daughter’s wedding will be. And regarding the 5 gold scrolls, when the time comes, various reasons will be sought to avoid these obligations and it seems like the King will also forget the conditions.

Not long, marry his daughter to the King. And for eleven months, the Princess ate whatever she wanted, wore the clothes and dresses she liked, and had as many servants as she wanted.

Time did not seem to pass until the eleventh month was almost here, and the Princess began to guess the thoughts of the King who had become her husband about the golden thread she promised. But the King never mentioned anything about the golden thread.

Finally on the last day of the eleventh month, the King took him to a room he had never seen, and in that room there were only spinners and benches. Then the King said, “Now the time has come, starting from tomorrow, the servant will bring you straw to spin and you must stay in this room to spin 5 spools of gold thread every night or you will get a punishment.”

At that time, the Princess became very scared because she herself did not know how to spin. What can be done tomorrow if no one comes to help him? He then went to the kitchen, sat on a bench and cried.

At that moment a voice knocked on the kitchen door, and as he stood and opened the door, he saw a strange black creature with a long tail, looked at him and asked him:

“What are you crying about?”

“Why do you ask that?” said the princess.

“It’s okay,” he said again, “you can tell me.”

“But this will not change the situation even if I tell it,” said the Princess.

“You may not be right,” he said as he twirled his tail.

“All right,” said the Princess while telling all her stories about cakes, rolls of gold thread and others.

“This is what I will do,” said the black creature, “I will come to your window every morning and take away straw for me to spin into gold threads and every night I will give you my spinning results.”

“What are you asking for as payment?” said the princess.

“I will give you 3 times to guess my name, and if you can’t guess it in 1 month, you will be mine.”

Because the Princess thought that she would succeed in guessing before the 12th month ended, she agreed to the terms.

The next day, the King brought him back to the spinning room which was already full of straw.

“That is the straw you must spin into a roll of golden thread,” he said, “if it is not finished, I will be punished by you.” The king moved away and locked the door.

Not too long after that, the Princess heard a knock on her window.

The Princess then stood up and opened the window, when she saw the black creature she had met yesterday.

“Where is the straw?” asked the creature.

“Here it is,” said the Princess, giving her straw.

At nightfall, the creature came and knocked back the window, then gave him 5 rolls of gold thread.

“This is what I promised,” he said.

“Now, guess what my name is?” he said again.

“Is your name Bill?” guessed the princess.

“No, my name is not that,” said the black creature while twirling its tail.

“Is your name Ned?” guessed the Princess again.

“No, my name is not that,” said the black creature while twirling its tail.

“Is your name Mark?” guessed the Princess again.

“No, that’s not it,” he said and left.

When the King entered the room, he saw that 5 pieces of gold thread were ready. “I see you have done your job,” he said, “you will get straw and food again the next morning,” he said as he left.

The incident repeated over and over, every day straw and food brought into the spinning room, every day the creature came to get straw and at night gave a roll of gold thread, and every time the Princess never guessed correctly the name of the black creature, until it arrived on the day before the last day of the month, the Creature came to bring 5 rolls of gold thread. The creature’s face became very evil, with eyes that glowed like hot coals, the creature said: “Tomorrow is the last day, and you will be mine!” then the Creature departs.

The Princess became very frightened, but that very night the King came to the spinning room and after seeing the 5 scrolls were available, the King said:

“My dear, I see you have completed your promise, after the next day, you will be free from punishment. Let’s celebrate with dinner together.”

As they ate, the King suddenly stopped eating and laughed.

“What makes your majesty laugh?” asked the princess.

“A few days ago, I hunted and arrived in a forest that I had never seen before. And in that forest I found a small cave. From inside the cave, I heard a song. Secretly I entered into the cave and looked in. I saw the funniest creature I had ever seen in my life, spinning with its tail spinning fast, singing:

“Nimmy nimmy not
My name is Tom Tit Tot. ”

When the Princess heard this, she felt very excited and wanted to jump for joy, but she tried to hold back and say nothing.

The next day when the Black Creature came at night, his evil smile was very wide and his tail was spinning fast.

“What is my name?” he asked while giving a roll of gold thread to the Princess.

“Is it Solomon?” answered the Princess while pretending to be afraid.

“No, my name is not that,” he said as he stepped into the room.

“Is it Zebedee?” the princess guessed back.

“No, my name is not that,” said the Black Beast with a laugh.

“Think carefully, he said again;” after the next guess, you will be mine. “Then his hands began to reach out to hold the Princess.

The Princess took a step or two back, looked at the creature, then laughed and said:

“Nimmy nimmy not, your name is Tom Tit Tot!”

When the creature heard it, the creature shouted angrily and went away into the darkness, and since then, the Princess has never seen him again, and the Princess can live happily ever after with the King.

Nimmy Nimmy Not, Namaku Tom Tit Tot

"Baiklah," kata sang Ibu; sambil berpikir betapa mewahnya pernikahan putrinya nanti.

"Kamu belum tentu benar," katanya sambil memutar-mutarkan ekornya.

"Sekarang, tebaklah siapa namaku?" katanya kembali.

"Apakah namamu Bill?" tebak sang Putri.

"Bukan, namaku bukan itu," kata makhluk hitam sambil memutar-mutarkan ekornya.

"Apakah namamu Ned?" tebak sang Putri lagi.

"Bukan, namaku bukan itu," kata makhluk hitam sambil memutar-mutarkan ekornya.

"Apakah namamu Mark?" tebak sang Putri lagi.

"Nimmy nimmy not
Namaku Tom Tit Tot."

"Apakah Solomon?" jawab sang Putri sambil berpura-pura ketakutan.

"Apakah Zebedee?" tebak sang Putri kembali.

"Nimmy nimmy not, namamu adalah Tom Tit Tot!"
